I started my journey in photography in 1993. Each day I wanted to learn more and more about photography and every picture I took encouraged me to make the next image even better than one before. Photography became a passion of mine and I wanted to learn as much about it as I could. I took classes, read books, interacted with photographers, all in the interest of making myself a better photographer.

After years of practice I started Mark Warren Photography, specializing in portraits, weddings, and events. I wanted to give everyone that I photographed that one image that they would never forget. I made many friends, not just clients, that came back year after year.

The learning for me never stopped and soon I become a teacher for my local parks and recreation as well was an organizer for the Hampton Road Digital Photography Club. My goal as a teacher was to show all my students that they too can become great photographers and anyone can learn how to use a camera. I showed my students, in simple terms, how the camera worked by relating it to things they already knew about. After 1 class most of my students knew more about their cameras than they ever had and some had even had their cameras for years. Teaching came natural to me and I loved every minute of it.

In Summer of 2015 my wife and I decided to move to California to spend some time with family on this side of the country. While I’m no longer photographing weddings, portraits and events, I’m still doing photography in a different way. I started my other website www.learningwithmarkwarren.com. On this site I’ve taken my class that I used to teach for parks and recreation and turned it into a online digital version. I also have other topics that I will be teaching on this site as well. As for markwphoto.com, I plan to use it as my travel and lifestyle blog.

I appreciate and will miss all my friend I’ve made back in VA but don’t worry I’ll be back to visit as I still have all my family there. I still have a lot of exploring to do in California and look forward to the many adventures on this side of the country.
